Advancing the ASSURED Agenda for Prosperity through Strategic Infrastructure Development

The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure in Bayelsa State serves as a pivotal government body tasked with the strategic planning, development, and maintenance of essential infrastructure, encompassing roads, bridges, public buildings, and related facilities.

We are steadfastly dedicated to realizing the infrastructure vision of Senator Douye Diri’s Prosperity Government, aligning our efforts with the ASSURED Agenda to drive sustainable progress and prosperity across the state.

Established in 1996 upon the creation of Bayelsa State from the former Rivers State, the ministry has undergone significant organizational evolution. Originally named the Ministry of Works and Transportation, it was restructured in 2012 to its current designation, the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, while consistently upholding its core mandate to deliver high-quality infrastructure that supports the state’s growth and development.
